We’ve just published the first release candidate for Verbotics Weld 2026! Weld 2026 is a major update of our robotic weld planning software, and is available to all users of Verbotics Weld.
What’s New in Weld 2026?
Weld 2026 introduces a range of new features and improvements designed to enhance your robot welding experience. Key highlights include:
- Support for multi-robot systems: We can now plan, and manage welds for muti-robot and multi-tool systems within a single project. This includes automatic synchronisation between robots and generates ready-to-run code for supported configurations.
- New robot support: Code generation for Panasonic, Kawasaki, QJAR, and Elite robots is now available.
- Improved accounts and licensing management: We have moved our licenses and workcells to an online portal so you can easily access your licensed features and have access to the latest workcells.
- Workflow automation: A macro system can be used to edit and automate common workflows further reducing time within our software.
- Cell Editor: Our workcell editor will now be released to Verbotics partners to create their own workcells.
- Cross platform support: In addition to our Windows support, we have also released initial support for MacOS and Linux.
- Improved usability and performance: We have made a host of additional changes that improve planning, allow more customisation, and improve the overall usability of Verbotics Weld.
Multi-Robot Support
Weld 2026 introduces support for multi-robot and multi-tool systems. This significant addition enables users to plan and manage welding operations for multiple robots within a single project environment. It includes automatic synchronisation between robots, ensuring collision-free co-ordination, and generates ready-to-run code, streamlining the programming process for these complex systems.
New Robot Support
We have now added support for Panasonic, Kawasaki, Elite, and QJAR robot systems. We generate .csr files for Panasonic robots. These files can then be converted for use on a Panasonic robot via Panasonic PC Tool or DTPS. For Kawasaki robots we generate .as files that will run directly on the robot, for Elite robots we generate .task files, and for QJAR we generate .rbg programs.
Online Accounts Portal
Weld 2026 improves license and workcell management by moving these functions to a new online portal. This portal provides users with a centralised and easily accessible platform to access licenses, download the latest workcells, and oversee user accounts, simplifying administrative tasks and improving overall control.
Macros
Weld 2026 features a powerful new macro system, designed to enhance efficiency and automate common workflows in weld planning. This system allows users to create and run sequences of actions, drastically reducing time spent on repetitive tasks. This can eliminate common repetitive operations such as applying weld settings or editing welds.
Workcell Editing
Our new workcell editor, available to Verbotics partners, empowers our partners to create and edit workcells.
This ability is invaluable during cell design, verification of reachability, robot tooling design, and cycle time analysis. Coupled with the speedy performance of planning in Weld 2026, our partners gain a significant competitive advantage by being able to provide potential customers with greater confidence in cell designs.
Improved Usability and Performance
Beyond these major features, Weld 2026 also includes a range of refinements and enhancements focused on improving the overall user experience. Key usability improvements include:
- Significant Planning Performance Boost: Planning operations are now substantially faster, with some cases showing an order of magnitude quicker performance compared to previous releases. This allows for more rapid iteration and design.
- Enhanced Automatic Weld Identifier: The automatic weld identifier has been re-engineered for a more user-friendly and interactive experience. It now operates directly within the main 3D viewport and offers improved options, giving you finer control over creating your desired weld paths.
- Custom Code Generation: Power users and Integrators now have greater flexibility with the ability to write customised robot code generators.
- Weld Sorting: New options for sorting welds have been implemented, allowing for more organized and efficient management of your weld projects.
- Improved Positioner Joint Control: Greater control over positioner joints provides more precise manipulation and optimization of your robotic setups.
- Refined Program Structure Control: Users can now exercise better control over program structure, leading to cleaner robot programs.
- Expanded Weld Filter Options: More weld filter options are available, enabling more specific and powerful filtering of weld data for analysis and planning.
- Automatic Saving: To safeguard your work, Weld 2026 now includes an auto-saving feature, ensuring that your progress is regularly backed up.
- Virtual Reality (VR) Support: View Verbotics Workcells using an OpenVR compatible headset.
Upgrading
Existing users of Verbotics Weld 0.12 will be contacted directly to assist with the migration process to Weld 2026, as there are some code generation changes that will require updates to the helper routines on your robot.
For those who have already been using the “Development” version for production, your settings and workcells will be automatically migrated when you install Weld 2026.
